Running Bear "Bran" Harrell is a climate resiliency planner, GIS software nerd, permaculture designer, and youth conservation leader of African, Genízaro and Salvadoreño ancestry. Though deeply rooted in both California and New Mexico, his expertise in community and environmental planning have enabled him to consult on major habitat restoration and climate adaptation projects as far as Taiwan, Portugal, Nicaragua, Cuba, Turkey and Kenya.
His unique heritage continues to shape his outdoor experiences and serve as his north star when engaging in conversations around conservation - focusing on regeneration, re-connection and reconciliation as the ultimate measures of success.
As an angler, cultivator and hunter, he is especially committed to decolonizing the Western hunt and reconnecting Black Indigenous communities with their traditional food pathways.
