Josh Mills

Josh’s day job is in the advertising industry and he’s the proud husband to Kallie and father to two crazy young boys Carson and Mason who he hopes he can show the outdoors to and light their inner fishing and hunting fire.

As a board member of the Wild Steelhead Coalition, Josh spends a great deal of time helping causes that help increase the dwindling numbers of wild anadromous fish from the coast to inland streams like the  Snake, Clearwater and Grande Ronde rives. Additionally he volunteers his time for Save Our Wild Salmon and is a proud member of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.

The fight for public lands preservation has brought Josh to Washington D.C. to lobby for the Land and Water Conservation Fund with BHA and that has lite a fire inside him to make sure the outdoor opportunities he’s had are also there for his boys in perpetuity.

“Joining Hunt To Eat is an amazing opportunity to continue my evolution as a hunter, fisherman and provider for my family.  I find that the highest honor we can bestow on the animals we hunt and fish as well as our family is to provide them with a thoughtful and delicious meal that came from our hands. I'm not the greatest cook, but I’m trying!”

When he’s not chasing his boys or working, you can find him hard at work at his fly tying vice creating “steelhead candy”, writing his blog he’s curated for the past 9 years called Chucking Line & Chasing Tail and just maybe enjoying a fine northwest brewed IPA.

He says he’s a pretty good upland bird and turkey hunter, learning the best he can at waterfowl,  a decent fly angler and an obsessive steelhead spey fisherman. Lastly Josh reports he’s a marginal big game hunter, but he’s perfected the art of dragging his dad’s deer out of the woods.
