Venison Gyros

It’s that time of year to empty our your freezer in preparation for this coming hunting season. Sometimes it can be difficult to get creative with ground meat, this recipe is simple, quick, and delicious.

Venison Gyros

  • 1 lb venison ground
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp Mediterranean herb seasoning

Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt plain
  • ½ cucumber grated
  • ½ squeezed lemon
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dill


  • Red or yellow onion chopped
  • Rice pilaf or quinoa


  • Brown the ground venison and drain off the grease
  • Add in seasonings and cook until done
  • Mix together ingredients for tzatziki sauce
  • Serve meat, sauce, and toppings on salad or pita bread
