I never thought I would love duck hunting the way I do. It is wet, frustrating, and miserable at times. Yet, when I hit the blind, there is no place I would rather be. From the pond to big water, watching birds work and mimicking calls and action - I just can't get enough. From the thrill to the meals, waterfowl are in my blood. To celebrate these incredible birds, here’s one of my husband and I’s favorite duck breast recipes, Duck Street Tacos.
- 1 lb of duck breast
- 1 pack of taco seasoning
- 2 cans of Ro-Tel diced tomatoes with green chilis
- Your favorite taco toppings. We love cilantro, onions, guacamole, tomatoes, and lime juice.
Add the duck breast, taco seasoning, and tomatoes into your crockpot and mix well. Add water if needed to ensure that the meat is covered in liquid. Cook for four hours on low.
Once the duck is done, dice the meat. Discard the other items from the crockpot. Salt the meat to taste. Serve the taco meat with lime, diced onion, diced fresh tomato, cilantro, La Victoria green taco sauce, and guacamole. Wrap them all up into your favorite kind of tortilla and enjoy!
